Barry Greenblatt was born at a very young age. (The year is omitted because he doesn't want you to know how old he is, but he is willing to give his "age range" if you ask him). He is a high school graduate and has some college education.

He worked as a foot messenger, and as an office temp, all the while reading the Civil Service Chief newspaper and taking as many civil service exams as he could. During this period he took some college classes but was more interested in finding a solid long term job. His persistence paid off.  Barry became a Police Communications Technician for the New York Police Department, a civilian employee responsible for the processing of emergency calls. He often had to remind people that he was not a cop, did not have a badge or a gun, and could not arrest people. He wanted to make it very clear that he was a civilian employee.

He started as a 911 operator and then became a radio dispatcher. A few years later Barry decided to switch careers, and became a New York City Transit Authority Subway Conductor. Early on he was advised that he was needed to be a construction flagman. He did not want to work on the tracks so he resigned his position and was reinstated to the NYPD. Shortly after returning to his previous job Barry was promoted to Supervising Police Communications Technician, and then later, to Principal Police Communications Technician. He retired before most people are able to because DC37, Local 1549, PCT/SPCT Chapter worked very hard to get a bill passed in  Albany that allowed employees in the Police Communications Technician line the opton to retire sooner than most govt service employees with no age requirement, and with the signature of then Governeor Pataki, Barry took up the offer.

Still very young, Barry is starting on a new career, that of an actor, and likes to dream big even though he has very little training and experience. He continues taking classes and looking for roles.

Single with no children, Barry lives in New York City.
